"So, I love you because the entire universe conspired to help me find you." - Paul Coelho
We had such a blast working with Gary and Amanda for their engagement session at their family cabin. From their initial meeting, Amanda knew she wanted her engagement photos to be taken at the family cabin. Her grandfather and father built the cabin by hand and the property is special to the whole family. As such, the engagement session was a family affair which I loved. Amanda's entire immediate family was present to help build the fire for smores, to move things as needed, and to help watch their pup Bella when she wasn't having her photo taken. We also got to catch up with Amanda's sister Jess and her husband Grant whose wedding we shot last June so that was a blast as well. Gary and Amanda are the two sweetest people and it was just a joy working with them for their engagement photos.
Amanda is very close with her family, so when Amanda and Gary started talking about wedding plans she expressed how meaningful it would be to wear her grandmother's ring. Her grandmother had passed away years earlier, but her and Amanda had shared a very special relationship. Gary planned a trip to Ocean City Maryland and took Amanda to her favorite place in the world, Assateaugue Island, which also happens to be a long time family vacation spot as well. They went out to the beach and walked down to the waters edge and got down on one knee to pop the question, and Amanda excitedly replied "YES!" and jumped into Gary's arms. Gary had picked up her grandmother's ring in advance of the proposal, and that was the ring he placed on her finger after asking the big question. As it turns out, we'll get to go down to Assateaugue for their big day next summer and we cannot wait. Enjoy their woodsy, family cabin engagement session!
